Who better than the Parisians themselves to show you the “real” Paris? They know the history of each neighbourhood, the out-of-the-way and surprising spots, local anecdotes, streets and residents that make up the essence of the city. On foot, by bike, during the day or in the evenings, these walks are also a unique opportunity to make the most of each other’s company while strolling together.

Das Paris Greeter Programm

Oenodyssee_124_165Volunteer Parisians are taking action to show visitors, foreigners, or French people, “their” neighbourhood, “their” favourite addresses, “their” less well-known places, their anecdotes and their experiences, quite simply, their life as a Parisian!

They form the association "Parisien d'un jour/Parisien tourjours/Paris Greeter", a member of the Global Greeter network. These volunteers offer to spend several hours with you, for no charge, in an area that they know well because they spend a lot of time there, or in a place that is more tucked away that they have just discovered and really like, or a favourite place (shop, restaurant, café etc.) that you would never have discovered without them! And of course, you can round of your visit with an animated discussion on the terrace of a café! Also, another way of making friends!

How does it work? The only condition is to register at least 2 weeks in advance on the association’s website www.parisiendunjour.org : everything is explained there, and you just have to follow the procedure! This programme is aimed at individual visitors and up to 6 persons maximum in a group (family, friends) and the Paris Greeters speak several languages.

So, don’t hesitate! Set the date for your rendez-vous in Paris!
