Something different to do-De la Suite dans les Idées Birthday parties with make-up and treasure hunts, searching for clues at the Musée Grévin or Notre Dame de Paris, or storytelling tours in the streets of Paris - the Suite dans les Idées association dreams up all kinds of amusing activities for your kids to join in and have fun with Parisians of their own age (only in French for the moment). -World storytelling day In March, to celebrate World storytelling day, the Au tour du Canal association organises a big musical treasure hunt to catch up with the storytellers in different places around the Bassin de la Villette (19th). This walk, prepared along with Cafézoïde, is an opportunity for children to explore the neighbourhood together and listen to some great stories. Details of other events organised for World storytelling day on www.jourmondialduconte.net. -Carnivals and other local events Kids are guests of honour at the numerous local neighbourhood carnivals, which are often held in the springtime: in June in the 14th arrondissement, in May in the 20th, in June on the Butte Bergeyre in the 19th, etc. -La rue aux enfants On May 27th, from midday to 7pm, the Quai de Loire (19th) is turned into a playground for children. Parisians and visitors, both big and small, can get together for an afternoon of festivities organised by Cafézoide. All together they can build huts, plant flowers, play and dance, and also listen to music and share a neighbourhood meal in a specially laid-out street. -Sous la plage From July to September, children will love the Sous la plage festival (15th) with its concerts for kids, taste discovery workshops (fruits to prepare, sample and mix…) and colouring workshops where the little ones can have fun dabbling in paint… Parc André Citroën 75015 Paris www.souslaplage.com For more details on these events, check dates in our Paris with the Parisians/Events rubric or on the local town hall websites www.paris.fr under arrondissements -Les Pestacles Every year in June, July and August, in the Parc Floral, the Pestacles is the big festival especially for small ears, inviting children between 5 and 12 to enjoy free musical shows from France and elsewhere, from yesterday and today, starring performers that are well-known or soon to be. www.paris.fr under Parks and gardens
