Le Latina
Its two screens exclusively show films in their original Latin language (Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian), which explains why a good number of foreign visitors visit the Latina, often to see films that aren’t distributed in their own countries for a variety of reasons. This programme is complemented with previews, festivals and encounters with film-makers. A real melting-pot then, not only in the cinemas, but also in the Bistrot Latin on the first floor, a popular meeting-place for aficionados of tango, salsa and sevillanas, from Paris and elsewhere. The first floor is also where exhibitions for the Galerie Renoir are held (paintings, engravings and photographs, etc.)! So don’t hesitate, go along to the Latina – you’ll find the welcoming atmosphere of the southern countries! Many new films are coming out in France at the Latina this April and May - all award winners! 14 March: 'Honor de cavalleria', spanish film in catalonian of Albert Serra, 2006 (vostf) 28 March: 'En la cama', chilian film of Matias Bize, 2005 (vostf) 11 April: 'Play', franco-argentino-chilian film of Alicia Scherson, 2005, (vostf) 25 April: 'Nocturnes' french film of Henry Colomer, 2006, (vostf) 20 rue du Temple 75004 Paris
